A portrait of Mezcal Producer Onofre Ortiz and his story of immigration and redemption in rural Mexico. As a teenager, Onofre decided to leave home in search of a better life in the US. After a difficult 10 years and a battle with addiction, he returned to Oaxaca and committed himself to mezcal production. Onofre speaks of the lessons learnt, and the value of mezcal to his family and his community.

Leo Stamps is a film maker based in South East London. Starting his career at Ridley Scott Associates he has directed a range of work from music videos to documentary and drama. After travelling to Mexico for the first time in 2014 he developed a deep affinity for it’s culture and has worked on creating content for several brands in London with Mexican ties including Dangerous Don, Pensador Mezcal and Cavita Restaurant. As an editor he has worked on brand campaigns for Nike and BT
