Cassie, a young woman with Down’s Syndrome who delights in writing, salt-and-vinegar crisps and feng shui, comes to stay with her sister Caitlin. Her arrival disrupts Caitlin’s orderly life — introducing chaos, warmth and colour. As Cassie reshapes the flat and her sister’s routines, the two begin to see each other in a new light, discovering unexpected connection and seeing the world — and each other — differently.

Director biography
- Georgie mcguigan
Georgie McGuigan is an actor and writer based in London. She trained at Italia Conti (2017) & the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (2024) and earned her first-class bachelor’s in creative writing from Birkbeck University in 2023. Her other film credits include ‘Exposing Yui Atari’ (RCS, 2024) & ‘The Better I Look’ (2024) - both experimental shorts written, shot and edited within five weeks. ‘Housemates’ is her first “proper” film (her words) and she is extremely proud to have created something that speaks so closely to her family’s experiences.
