For five years, Thomas Quiter was confined to his home after insurance denied him a wheelchair. Now, after a multi-year journey with engineers and disability advocates, he is unveiling open-source wheelchair technology. The project gives users access to equipment and repairs without bureaucratic delays or denials, sparking an overdue movement to remove barriers and enable truly independent lives for the disabled community.

Emma and Nathaniel are Chicago-based filmmakers who tell the stories of overlooked people and places. They have worked with organizations like the American Cancer Society, Easterseals, Miss Amazing, Pacific Legal Foundation, and many others.
