• The Promise

Lewis is an autistic man who has lost his life partner to cancer. Cast adrift and alone, he plunges into a cycle of debilitating grief, unable to function in a world of chaos and noise.  Until he meets an adult autistic therapist who offers him hope for the future. The film is a study of what it can feel like for autistic adults without support in the world, and how difficult feelings like loss can seem impossible to process.

Director biography

- Dan Morgan Turner

To date I have made 4 feature films and a number of short films. I have always told stories that interested me, often trying to understand the human condition in a curious way.

The Promise is my first film an an autistic filmmaker and feels like a new beginning. Part biographical and part informed by the experiences of my son and his autistism therapist.
