Rabbi Jon Cutler served the United States Navy for 32 years as a chaplain. He served in this capacity in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Philippines, and other places in his long career. When the American Airlines plane went into the Pentagon on 9/11/2001, he was immediately deployed to the Pentagon to not only give solace to the families who lost loved ones in the attack, but he also was mandated to remove the remaining body parts left in the plane. He recalls his experiences in the various war zones, and his feelings about the conspiracy theories surrounding the attack on the Pentagon.
