CINEMA IS FOR EVERYONE.
A film festival with a purpose beyond the screen. We champion independent voices, remove barriers and bring people together through cinema.
PURPOSE BEFORE PROFIT.
Little Venice Film Festival is more than an annual celebration of film. We are a registered Community Interest Company, established to create a lasting benefit for the communities we serve.
That means our work has a purpose beyond commercial success. Resources generated through the festival support its activities, its accessibility commitments and its wider community mission.
Rooted in Little Venice and Westminster, we connect local audiences and organisations with filmmakers from across the UK and around the world.
A COMMUNITY BROUGHT TOGETHER BY FILM
BARRIERS DOWN.
VOICES UP.
Our community purpose shapes the films we champion, the audiences we welcome and the opportunities we work to create.
CINEMA WITHOUT BARRIERS.
We work to make screenings more accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, blind and partially sighted people, disabled filmgoers and neurodivergent communities.
MORE VOICES. MORE STORIES.
We champion filmmakers whose perspectives are too often underrepresented, including women, LGBTQ+ filmmakers and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
OPENING THE DOOR.
Cost should not determine who gets to make or experience cinema. We aim to reduce financial barriers through accessible events and submission concessions where possible.
THE FUTURE STARTS HERE.
Through initiatives such as our National Kids Showcase, we recognise emerging filmmaking talent in schools and encourage young people to discover their own creative voices.
ROOTED IN LITTLE VENICE.
Our London home matters to us. We value partnerships with independent venues, community organisations and local businesses that help make the festival possible.
BEYOND THE SCREEN.
A festival should offer more than a place to show a film. We celebrate filmmakers through screenings, awards, conversations and opportunities to connect with audiences and peers.
MORE THAN ONE WEEK OF CINEMA.
Our ambition extends beyond the festival itself. We want LVFF to help make independent cinema more welcoming, more representative and more accessible throughout the year.
That means strengthening local relationships, finding new ways to support filmmakers and audiences, and developing opportunities for people who may not otherwise see themselves reflected in film culture.
We believe that when more people can take part in cinema, the whole community benefits.
ACCOUNTABLE BY DESIGN.
A Community Interest Company is a UK company structure designed for activities that benefit a community. CICs are subject to specific rules, including an asset lock that protects resources for community purposes. A CIC is not a registered charity.
HELP US MAKE CINEMA OPEN TO MORE PEOPLE.
There are many ways to support our community mission. Whether you give your time, contribute financially or want to explore a partnership, we'd love to hear from you.
