BADBOSS (Jae Yoon Cho) is a South Korean pop artist, music director, and multimedia
creator. Known for his vivid fusion of painting, digital art, and sound, BADBOSS
reinterprets classical icons with contemporary cultural references—blending luxury
brands, consumerism, and irony into bold visual narratives.
Born in 1979, BADBOSS was classically trained in both music and visual art, and has
developed a hybrid language that merges East and West, tradition and subversion. His
aesthetic oscillates between satire and sentimentality, often contrasting symbols of
status and mortality, such as crowned skeletons, luxury-clad cats, and rebranded
historical figures.
His works have been shown in Vienna, Seoul, Bologna, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. In
2024, he was awarded the Gustav Klimt Award in Austria. BADBOSS currently lives
and works between Korea and Europe.
