In Cambodia, former Khmer Rouge child soldier Aki Ra and his wife Hout help communities reclaim their land by clearing deadly leftover landmines. They adopt children injured by explosions and open a museum that gains global attention. As Aki Ra works to break free from his past in the genocidal regime and rebuild his family, he discovers that in a country still wrestling with its history, the past is never easily escaped.

Award winning director Tom has self-shot immersive films and led multi-camera teams on blue chip projects for Netflix, Disney +, Amazon, BBC, C4, C5 & Nat Geo in over 50 countries. This project began almost 20 years ago following a visit to Aki Ra's museum in Cambodia.
