Ode to Joy explores the Folk Music Center in Claremont, California, a vibrant cultural hub inspiring musical discovery since 1958. Blending archival material, interviews, and observational footage, the documentary traces its evolution from repair shop to living museum. Through its caretakers’ stories, including the Harper family and Grammy-winning artist Ben Harper, the film shows how hands-on learning keeps folk traditions alive.

Diana is a senior at Scripps College in Claremont, California, and a documentary filmmaker from Brooklyn, New York. She is inspired by bringing archival material to life and telling stories with themes of community, intimacy, and resistance at the forefront.
