Tokiwadaira in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, is a rapidly aging community where around half the residents are elderly. Once a vibrant area developed in the 1950s through public housing, it now faces challenges such as isolation and solitary deaths. This documentary captures the quiet dignity of life in the aging housing complexes, highlighting both community efforts to address these issues and the enduring beauty of the place.

Director biography

Haru Kato is currently studying in the Department of Film at Nihon University College of Art. While directing music videos and documentaries, he also works as a freelance crew member on various film, commercial, and music video productions to further develop his practical skills. His academic focus is on documentary filmmaking, with particular interest in direct cinema. He draws significant inspiration from the works of Frederick Wiseman.
